Day 5
Dear followers,
As much as your enthusiasm drives me on there is only so much one can take. I'm not getting anything out of this trip like the others. Arriving at these places after riding all day and thinking , haven't i been here before is not doing it for me. Even a night in a Deluxe Shithouse couldn't do it for me.
Also with the holiday idea of visiting relatives and friends by going to Melbourne via Mildura, Horsham, Ballarat and Bachuss Marsh i maybe cutting it a bit fine to be coherent when i arrive. So after much tossing and turning in bed last night trying to decide what to do, having come to that great fork in the road. That fork is the famous turn off to Norseman where Jim K. and i slept 40 years ago under a pepper tree and nearly froze to death. The question is, will it be right to Norseman or straight to Kalgoorlie for the train?
Well the answer is I've booked and I'm off to Kalgoorlie to catch the train to Port Augusta. Hey , don't turn your computers off yet, hear me out. This will cut the total Kms down by half to 1800Kms and enable me to adventure into different areas with more time and energy. I think they call that some sort of a Holiday. You know the one, The Bike, Train and Fly one.
Now I'm going to leave it there and wait for everyones response. Now listen , I DONT WANT ANYONE HOLDING BACK NOW . I know Dumb and Dumber are going to have a field day. Bruce will be crying. Linds will change the locks. Monica will understand. Shane G. in Melbourne won't even know anyway . So this is it folks, let it rip. P.S. I think my Laptop is gonna smoke
The blog will continue only after summarising all the feedback.
Regards

Hello Grant , I could sense some hesitation when i posted on your blog yesterday that you might be wanting to head to Kalgoorlie.
ReplyDeleteGood idea going to Port Augusta , you don't need to prove anything you have more then done it before ,so I cant see anyone getting too upset.
Take it easy have a leisurely ride from there to Melbourne take time to smell the roses enjoy the scenery ,and go through the Barossa valley and take up drinking and apreciating red wine !!
The Petch
WEAK AS FREAKIN PISS......that's what others may say but I say well done bro. How many people would ride from Perth to Kalgoorlie let alone AROUND THE PADDOCK?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the errrrrr massage when you get to Kalgoorlie and have a toss (in the two up ring) for me.
Big Guy, bloody magic, I too couldn't sleep thinking about all those other people sitting out side your suite wanting to get in!
ReplyDeleteDo your thing my Main Man but I ask just one thing, (actually two), get yourself a First class sleeper on the train (that's what cuz would do) and secondly put the tracker up against the window every 6 hrs so I can get daily buzz, in fact I've tracked you several times across the same road but the train will be just a little different.
It doesn't matter what you do, to me you are "The Big Guy"....
LyW awaiting the next blog
Hooray you've made Kalgoorlie
ReplyDeleteAs the Petch says, "get a first class cabin for the trip" If you need money, we'll all chip in.
The Petch, Bruce, Shane, Daimo, even Jackie but not us pensioners.
'The Petch'. Bruce says bugger first class get the whole carriage,
ReplyDeleteWhen does your train leave, or has it left? I'll be checking that tracker big guy.
I think it's a great idea, go for it big guy
Mate it's all about the journey, if you give yourself the time to enjoy it so much the better.
ReplyDeleteSteph says she would have jumped the train at Claisebroock
