DAY 2
Well today was a grind as the body doesn't like slight headwinds at anytime especially when its used all its energy up on the first day.Woops. Nothing really to report other than I'm at Merridan Caravan Park in a fantastic little ensuite donga.
While I'm at . I am not going to put pics on the blogg just to fill it up and make it look colourful unless its a good one. If anybody is craving for a sign post, snake, trucker, Kangaroo etc etc i will drag one out from the last blogg and post it.
I think a bit of bullshit and quality photos should be enough. Like other cyclist , if i see any which i haven't, which makes me start wondering about myself. The Map of Aussie is not a bad one so i will throw that one on every now and then.
Well i better try and get some sleep now as i might need it. Thanks for all the enthusiasm so far guys considering I've just scratched the surface in distance. Night

Sorry, might be a bit early for a Aussie pic to show my progress. Can you see it? |
Another great effort. If you check the weather at Burracoppin you will see that a westerly will begin to develop around 11.00 am and is forecast to keep blowing at 20-25 kms per hour until 2.00 am Monday morning. Keep the fuel up and a clear head.
ReplyDeleteYes I'm on to it.Now 20km from Southern Cross and its raining but I'm not getting wet as i have sheltered at a Moorine Rock general store which is shut. Suns out again so here we go again.
ReplyDeleteHi Grant. Just catching up with your latest exploit. The tracker is cool but seems to have missed a bit. Watch out for kangaroos... wouldn't want to prang the bike.
ReplyDeleteMum just told me about your bike ride to Melbourne. It's great to hear you're on the road again - Impressive!
ReplyDeleteYou may as well try to race with the horses once you get to melbourne too, they probably have horse costumes at dress-up stores. Something like this:

Sending my regards from Korea,
Daniel
Ah ,my Korean Connection. Thank you for your idea of dressing up with that horse head but i don't think i will be needing it. After this ride i think I'm going to look a bit different anyway without a costume.
DeleteAre you in Southern Cross for tonight? Ease up a little and let the muscles get sorted for the 'Big Push' across the straight bit......
ReplyDeleteLyW
Is that my Malaysian Connection? Mate, I'm not trying to break records but to keep my average up. The bodies feeling it , Cuz but i must act if the wind is not against me at times as i hate it when it is.
DeleteThey could've opened the General Store for you, obviously didn't know who was coming to town!
ReplyDeleteHope those muscles waking from their slumber, don't forget the magnesium powder at the black stump chemist.
11:10 hrs. I see a stop is in order, just off the highway, bits missing from the blog, did you camp overnight or is the Telstra package still giving you problems?
ReplyDeleteNever mind I'm checking the weather etc. 'Keep on truckin' as we said back in the 70's.
Head south for a bit then across familiar territory towards a horse race (and rellies).
Gaps in the blog just make you more intriguing... "Big Guy lost for a while" Love it!
Don't worry, Big Guy is still breathing, squatting under the shade of a tree trying to catch a lizard for my next meal. I'll post soon and give you the rundown, I've been to HELL AND BACK.
DeleteAh, I didn't know about this blog part, is it what you mentioned, B?
ReplyDeleteIt's Monday and the SW should have been some help, but the turn South may be a bit early for the Northerly? Details pl Shane. The satelite pic is better than the map pic...I can actually see you on the road, little flag, little legs, black leggings, intense visage.
And what will you be wearing from Mildura to Horsham when you join me?
DeleteAlso could you do something with that profile pic of you as it looks like a 70's porn star shot when you where working with Larry Flint.
Hey, can you come back, we forgot to say Goodbye !!
ReplyDeleteI don't think so. Just ring me , and ask to be put through to Hell
ReplyDeleteYou expect me to know how to change my picture?? Who do you think I am, S Kelly?
